OR Series oxygen-removing purifiers are used as pre-purifiers to remove oxygen from hydrogen gas. The catalyst technology combines hydrogen and oxygen to form water vapor. The H2O can then be easily removed by a downstream Johnson Matthey HP or PSH Series palladium purifier.
The precious metal catalyst promotes the reaction of hydrogen and oxygen gas to form water vapor at ambient temperature. This technology provides excellent protection against excessive oxygen levels in the palladium membrane purifiers. The OR Series purifiers are designed to remove oxygen at < 1% inlet levels to < 1 ppm. Outlet moisture levels will be increased in accordance with the inlet oxygen content.
OR Series purifiers can also be heated to aid the conversion of H2, CO, and CH4 to H2O and CO2 in oxygen. Contact us to ask for further information and price quotes for this special application.
The OR purifier is included as a standard feature for all PSH Series bulk palladium purifiers.
