 Argon is used as a protective shield gas in orbital TIG welding processes used to join stainless steel. The argon flows through the interior of the tubing during welding to protect the electrode and weld pool against the oxidizing effects of air. Pure argon is necessary to purge the interior weld zone to prevent oxidation and discolorization on the weld joint.
PureGuard argon purifiers will provide pure argon for welding to assure clean welds free of 'blueing' and oxidation.
