 Gas cylinder plants sometimes require gas purification to allow them to fill cylinders with higher purity specifications of 99.9999% purity or better. Purification systems for cylinder filling must be compatible with pressures up to 3.000 psig. The purifiers must use specialized vessels, valves and piping systems rated for the operating conditions at the cylinder filling plant.
Johnson Matthey has provided high-pressure gas purifiers using getter and regenerable catalyst technology. These purifiers can be used to remove impurities to ppb levels to assure the highest quality cylinder gas specifications.
